Mission of the Congregation
The service of the Loretto sisters in the Caucasus (Russia) began in November 1992. Already one month later, the sisters brought there the statue of Our Lady of Loretto which was commissioned in Loreto (Italy) by Mother General Zofia Chomiuk. Since then, our Lady of Loretto has been looking after us and the parish and helping to spread the charism of our Father Founder.
Prayer and witness
In October 2010 we have started Tuesday prayers through the intercession of Father Founder for the intentions submitted by parishioners. Our first task is to bear witness to our faith in God and to set an example with our own lives. We assist the parish priest in pastoral, administrative and domestic work. We serve in the sacristy, prepare the liturgy, catechise children and young people and prepare adults to receive the sacraments. Together with the priest we visit the sick. Every year we run “Holidays with God” for the children of our parish, organised in interesting holiday destinations.
