A fundamental theme in Loretto devotion is the Holy Family. The Loretto shrine, by recalling the hidden life of Jesus, Mary and Joseph in Nazareth, revives the sense of the sanctity of family and evokes concrete aspects of family life. These aspects concern: fidelity, care, respect for life, the upbringing of children, the dignity of human labour, poverty, suffering, and prayer. Christian families can find their daily concerns and life’s problems in the Loretto shrine of the Holy House – the first and exemplary domestic church in the history of the world.
The sisters undertake various activities in Loretto to serve the family. These include: running the DPS “Charitable Work of Love of Father Kłopotowski”, establishing and animating the Loretto Family, organising retreats and days of retreats (among others, retreats are held in the Pilgrim’s House “Benedict”), hosting pilgrimages for children and young people, welcoming disabled people for rehabilitation and recreation holidays, conducting pre-marriage courses. Activities are accompanied by prayer. A community of the Living Rosary has been developing since the summer of 2021. In addition, devotions on the first Saturdays of the month are held regularly. Masses celebrated for the cause of Blessed Father Kłopotowski are held on the first Thursdays of the month. They are followed by a procession with his relics and a special blessing.
The activities undertaken to build and strengthen relationships with loved ones have been given the name: Loretto Family Centre Domus Sancta.
